A pilgrim fills up butterlamps. All Tibetans long to make a pilgrimage to the Jokhang no matter what hardships ensue along the way. The happiness of those lucky enough to have made it to Lhasa is obvious in their faces. |

| On certain days special blessings are on offer at the Jokhang. In the midst of all the rush, which can be overwhelming, one old pilgrim saw me looking lost and pulled me in line in front of him to ensure I received the blessing - an act of great kindness. | ||||||||||||
