After the Gampa La pass (4,794m) with a splendid view of lake Yamdrok, and a 62km drive, we arrived in the town of Nakartse. There are many Chinese living here and it's a main stopping place for lorries and buses. We took tea and food at an excellent Tibetan restaurant and this was the view from the back. Looking across the mountain range I wondered where the pass was; this being our direction of travel. We certainly relied totally on the skills of our Tibetan driver.
